A moment of silence

I didn't think I would be this shocked.

I was speechless when my mum told me about it.

I wasn't even that close to her.

Yet, when my mum answered me solemnly, "Yes, it is true. Call your dad. Tell him to call home," I was surprised I actually cried.

I never thought it would be so hard to pass a simple message to my dad. A message that weighs a ton.

Many thoughts flashed through my mind at once. Some were heart wrenching, some were just plain selfish.

This was not how I wanted to start the month of November.

So, I'm taking this opportunity to ask everyone, take a moment with me, and say a silent prayer for my grandmother who had just passed away late last night.

Ah ma, I am so sorry for missing your funeral. I hope you rest in peace. I will really miss you.
