Alyssa and Michelle

Have you ever felt out of place? That people invite you to do stuff but only asked you to come along just for the sake of asking? Felt like there is no one you could really talk to? Well, that was how I felt when I first got to Florida. I didn't know anyone and had a real hard time finding people I could really talk to.

This Fall and Spring semester probably is one of the best ones ever. I've meet a lot of good friends since I've got to Florida but no one beats Michelle (my roommate), and Alyssa (my classmate/work mate). Not that I haven't met any other people but these 2 girls are really the nicest so far, and actually really treats me as a real friend and everything.

It is really nice to be involved/invited to something again. We would always have this night chat sessions and everything. Or we would text each other. We had a spaghetti night last Wednesday (02/18).

#1. Michelle(in red) and Alyssa(in pink).

#2. They were just being stupid here. Apparently, that is my pose whenever I want to take a pic with food, which is so not true!

#3. I do not pose like that!

#4. Michelle is so nice. She made all these. Alyssa and I were just chilling around. Haha! Thanks Michelle.

#5. Lizzie was busy reading Twilight. She finished all 4 books in 4 days. She was inseparable with the book. When the food was ready, she said, "Leave it there. I like my pasta cold anyway." BULLSHIT!! It was almost frozen by the time she actually got up and took a bite. And she only took 3 bites before she threw away the rest! Like pasta cold my ass!!

#6.

#7. Just gotta love them! We took this with a self timer. Cool huh?

#8. Michelle said Alyssa look like a midget here. Haha! Alyssa was just sitting on a really low chair.

#9. Then we went into Michelle's room to fool around again. I think this was where Michelle got pretty fed up with taking pictures. So, Alyssa was the only one left to ss with me. Hahah!!

#13. I was testing Alyssa's camera. She was complaining about how bad her camera is, so when I tested her camera, we ended up taking pictures of each other.

#14. We were comparing cameras.

#15.

#16. You see Lizzie there. This is was like an 1 1/2 hour after we all had our spaghetti, and her's was still there. It was just sitting there! She didn't even finish it! Liar!! Anyway, this was where Michelle, Alyssa and I got hungry and wanted to have some deserts, so we made the cinnamon twist again.

#24. Okay. The guy facing the camera is Ryan and the guy with his back turned away is Gab. They are Michelle's close friends from Cape Coral. Ryan was coming in from somewhere and Gab went to pick him up from the airport. (fyi, the airport is like 5 10 minutes away from my uni). So, they decided to drop by and chat. Good god! You should have listen to Gab and Ryan. They were teaching me what "tossing salad" and "munching carpet" means. So embarrassing. Haha! Had a great time though. Great guys.

#26. HAHAHHAHAH!!! I was trying to take a picture of myself talking with them but I didn't know that Michelle was posing like that! Hahahhahahha!!!

#27.

Anyway, we just sat around chatting till Ryan and Gab left. It was nothing special or anything. It just felt like I've finally fit somewhere. Took me two years, but definitely worth the wait. Thanks gurls!

I just want to do a shout out to my Malaysian good friend back home.

First time for everything

I would never admit this but I just realize that I am in fact a closet chicken. No. I am not talking about being an undercover prostitute. Nor am I talking about the fact that I am afraid of taking up a challenge. And no, Danny. I am not talking about being afraid of your parents or your siblings.

I am talking about why I always attend classes and never miss any. I know I miss some sometimes when I am late or when I overslept, but those are unintentional.

I just realize that I am afraid because... actually, I still don't know why I am afraid. I know I am afraid because it can affect my overall grade in class. I also know that I am afraid that I might miss some important announcement/tips that the professor might all of a sudden think of giving.

Sigh, I think I shouldn't even say that I am a closet chicken. I don't miss classes cause it will drive me crazy.

How do I know this? Well, it is because I just missed two classes this morning. AND IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!

I didn't mean to miss my classes. I have a valid reason for doing so. PMS got in the way.

It kept me up all night and it wasn't till 9:30 in the morning did I take a pain killer pill. I am usually against taking too much of these pain killers cause I heard it is not good when you are pregnant, but if it hadn't been for my roommate's pill, I don't think I would have been able to go to work too.

After HOURS of tossing and turning while squirming in pain, I finally fell asleep at 10a.m. but five minutes later my alarm rang. I couldn't bring myself to get out of bed. I took half an hour to weigh my choices.

I could miss my 11a.m. class since there is no quiz scheduled for that day but risk missing important tips or being marked down for being absent. Sleep took over not long after these options enter my mind. So I decided to take the risk.

I really did thought of going to my 12:30 class, but I overslept. I am not as worried as I am with my earlier class though cause I am doing pretty well in my 12:30 class. Since I've never used my two unexcused absences in that class before, I skipped that class too.

Now, it is driving me crazy. I keep wondering what I have missed in those two classes. It bothered me for the whole day. Luckily, my friend informed me that my 11a.m. professor let them out early after returning our exam papers and did not take attendance. I can only hope she did not mark me down.

Lets hope now I don't miss any more classes from here on out.

edit:
It is like I jinx myself or something. After writing this post, I went to bed.. and guess what.

I MISSED MY FREAKING 9:30a.m. CLASS!!! DAMN IT!!!!!

Spending a tad too much

I remember reading Suet's blog about saving and coincidentally was talking to my mum about my working schedule. Suddenly realized that I have been spending a lot cause my bank account have been missing several hundreds. =P

I should probably start saving too. I think it is because I got the refund from my university and always thought that I don't spend much money on myself. In the end, it led to me spending more than what I was suppose to.

I kept thinking that I don't always buy stuff for myself, so when I earn my own money, I should buy some stuff for myself. With that in mind, I started out with something small..

#1. One Piece playing poker cards. $2.75

For those of you who is unaware of this, I am sorta a bit of an anime freak. I am obsessed with Card Captor Sakura, Inuyasha, Bleach, Naruto, and the most recent one is One Piece. I've watched all of these anime at least three times from episode 1 to the most updated episode. When I am done, I start all over again. Now, I am very obsessed with One Piece and is watching it for the third time. I saw these cards on ebay and they were so cheap. Can't pass up the offer, so I bought it.

Thinking that I did not spend a lot, I should be able to get something else, so I got..

#2. White gold plated earings. Same design as DBSK Yun Ho. $16.94

Remember the Korean boy band that I like. Well, I was so obsessed with them at one point, I went to search ebay to see if they have anything on them, and found these. I really like the earings. It looks weird at first, but the more I wear them, the more I love how it looks on me. Muahaha!!!

At this point, I was okay with shopping and spending money cause I didn't think I use much on the earrings and cards.

Three weeks ago, I went to Alyssa's birthday and we went to a restaurant beside a shopping mall. Alyssa, Alyssa's cousin, Alyssa's mum, Michelle, and I went shopping while we were waiting for a table. So, when I was at the mall, I got..

#3. Sweatshirt from Abercrombie and Fitch. Loved it! $21.10

#4. Nice right? How can I not buy it. It was a $60 sweatshirt and I got it for $21. Pretty good deal if you ask me. And it is damn useful during these few days of cold/freezing weather.

I was in love with this sweatshirt up until I washed it. Now I am disappointed in it. You see the red A&F on my sweatshirt? Well, the freaking color came off and part of the sweatshirt is now pink. Not very noticable but it is pink nonetheless. Made me so mad. Spoiled my mood for the whole day.

Well, I spent quite some money on clothes cause when I went Target, I spent around $80 on..

#5. Khaki shorts and St. Patrick's day T-shirt

#6. Green shorts and quarter sleeves shirt

#7. Workout pants and sports bra.

But I always thought that clothes are okay cause I am using them all the time. It is a necessity. So it is okay to spend money on them right? Well, I think I am right. LOLX!

Then, there is spending money on food. I know food is a necessity and basic need, but I consider this as wasting money when I already have food in my dorm and still go out for dinner that cost me $31.

#8. TGI Friday's

#9. Spot me. ^^

#10.

#11.

#12. Of course I went with Michelle. Who else would I go with other than my fantastic roommate.

#13. Guess which is mine. Haha! I am so stupid. Why do I even order Coke. There goes $2 and my diet. No wonder I am getting fat.

Anyway, that is besides the point. The thing is, I spent all the money here and there that I don't even realize it is actually a lot. There is also my phone card, my blood test, two new sports bra I bought, and occasionally buying food at Subway or TacoBell when I am not even hungry.

These are all small things. The most expensive one I've spent on so far is..

#14. ASUS Eee PC. $317

#15. What do you think? Nice huh?

By the way, I found something totally hilarious. I was looking through the instructions so that I could keep my laptop in a good condition for a long time. I came across the battery instructions.

#16. Damn long list

When I saw it, I was like, "Damn! So long." But what I found inside was stupid.

#17. This is all there is to the instructions. The others were the same instructions but in different languages.

#18. Front.

#19. Back. I know that USA is a sorta like a "salad bowl" where there are a lot of different ethnicity, but this is just ridiculous.

Anyway, back to my new laptop.

#20. Pretty cool right? I really like it.

#21. A laptop for only $317. Of course there is going to be a catch.

#22. My new laptop(left) is only 8.9" Isn't it cute!?!?

#23. Small huh? There is built in wireless, 512 MB memory, 8GB storage and webcam. Cool and everything but can't do much on it. I can only go online and do my homework with it.

It took me a long time to decide whether I should buy it or not. Got advice from both my parents (talking to my mum on my cell while dad was next to me) and finally decided to give it a go. Like mum said, "Try it for 3 months la. If don't like it then ma return lo. Then at least you got try ma. If not, you will always wonder what it would be like to have the laptop."

I keep thinking that I am frugal person. Now, when I list down stuff like this, I've used quite a lot of money on myself, didn't I? Guess I should watch how I spend money huh?
