Merry Christmas!

I got to enjoy yet another jolly Christmas in the States. My friends and I didn't hold another Christmas party like we did last year. But I did get my share of Christmas fun this year.

Got to be in the FOX4 Morning Blend Christmas card..

#1. Blenders!

Received one of the best presents from my secret santa, Melissa, our producer of the Morning Blend.

#2. My beautiful scarf!

Christmas has just started but I'm loving it so far. Well, off to bed. Gotta work the whole day on Christmas. Will update about the rest of Christmas before the day is over. See ya later and Merry Christmas everyone.

edit (12/25/10; 11p.m.)

The rest of my Christmas day was awesome if I do say so myself.

Got another Christmas present from my cousin, Jamie, and my aunt & uncle.

#3. An iPad speaker system. Isn't that cool? How thoughtful of them!

And I got presents from the customers at my aunt's restaurant too. Everyone was being extra generous that day, so I was getting tips left and right. There was this guy who gave me a $21 tip for his $28 bill. Crazy right? Don't regret working on Christmas day at all!

After work, went to the theaters with Janae to watch Harry Potter.

#4. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.

I have to admit, this is one of the best Harry Potter movies they've produced so far compared to the rest of the others. I think they made the right decision of splitting the book and making it into two movies. They wouldn't have been able to cover the whole book, not well anyway, if they did it in only one movie.

A little advice, if you've already read the book, don't read it again before watching the movie. You probably won't enjoy it as much because you will be scrutinizing every single second of it.

I think the reason I enjoyed it as much as I did is because I forgot a whole lot of what I read and the movie jogged my memory. That, and also the fact that the movie was pretty hilarious. Not to mention it was fun watching with Janae. We kept laughing.

OH OH OH!! And two funny thing happened before and after the movie.

----

Before:
Went to the restroom with Janae waiting by the sink area. I came out without speaking to her.

I walked past her and said, "Excuse me. You're in my way." She responded, "Use the word please." The we were quiet again.

A minute later, we started talking. The girl who was washing her hands next to us suddenly let out a breath of relief. She said to us, "I thought you two didn't know each other and was being rude." LOL!!!!

----

After:
Went to the restroom again. This time Janae was waiting outside. I was washing my hands by the sink. Girls walked past me and entered the restroom stalls.

Looking at myself in the mirror and vaguely noticed a figure standing next to me.

Turned my head towards the person and stared at that person. The person stared back. For some reason, I said, "Hi" and the person greeted me back. Seconds went by and I realized, I was staring at a teenage BOY!

HE continued staring at me and said, "Isn't this the men's?" I looked over my shoulder, seeing manicured toes, and replied, "No~ This is the ladies'" BOY walked out saying, "Oh Shit!" HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!

This year's Christmas is awesome I tell you!

Day Glow and The Torture After That

Okay. I have always been against going out at night if I know I have to wake up at 6:30 in the morning the very next day (well, at least that's how I am when I'm in Florida).

But the throw-paint-at-strangers-and-friend-in-a-club event sound like so much fun. And everyone from my circle of friends were going. So, I decided, what-the-hey? Why not go to this "Day Glow Tour" event that they are having this club in Naples, Ultra and have myself some fun.

It was one of the craziest events I've been to this year.

#1. All dress in white.

#2. Fooling around before Day Glow

#11. At the event.

#12. Soaked in paint.

#13.

At one point, it got pretty gross: sweaty people invading your personal space and stuff.

I still couldn't figure whether I made the right choice of going or not. The next day at my internship, I could have been sleepwalking while greeting the guests for all I know.

Just keeping my eyes open hurts. Not to mention, I gained headache from lack of sleep, and my feet hurts from dancing all night. I can't be more stupid for wearing heels to work that day.

Feeling...

I've been feeling very overwhelmed lately.

I don't know if it's because I was too relaxed over the summer and now that school have started, I just need to readjust.

Or maybe I am just thinking wayyy too much. Worrying over things that isn't important NOW.

Living in the future, worrying about the past and forgotten about the present.

I need to recollect myself.

Maybe I'll just click on the reset button in my head and start focusing on things that matter NOW.

Like the exam I have tomorrow that is worth 15 percent of my grade.

Yeah. Let me go do that.

I have one of the nicest professors ever!

You know you are one of the luckiest students out there when your professor brings you back a souvenir during her trip back to Japan.

Thank you so much Sachiko sensei!

#1. My cool and cute handkerchief. Honestly, I really like it!

I didn't get anything big but this time, it is really the thought that counts. I was sooo touched!

#2. Sachiko sensei and Mina-chan

ほんとにありがとうございますさちこせんせい! だいじにします!

Happy 5th Year Anniversary Danny Hor!

I can't believe it has been 5 years since we've been together.

One thing I regret this year is probably not being able to see Danny at all because I was stuck here in Florida all Summer.

Yet, Danny has been patient and is ever so nice to me.

I have to say that I am the luckiest girl ever to have a boyfriend like Danny.

Sadly, we couldn't take any pictures together this year, so all I have is this..

and this..

Hehe!! I know you won't get angry at me for posting them on my blog cause you love me so much right? =P

See, I know you so well. It must be because we have a mutual understanding that can't be conveyed through words.

LOL!! *inside joke*

Anyway, I just want to say,

HAPPY 5th YEAR ANNIVERSARY DANNY HOR!!

I still love you so much (I wonder why. LOL!! >.<)

I can't wait to see you once I graduate! MUAXXXX!

Comeback possibility

I just got back from moving some stuff into my dorm room today. As I open the door, memories from the past four years of college comes rushing back to me.

I started this website with the intention of keeping tabs of my college memories, and my blog hasn't been fulfilling it's purpose.

That is why, I've decided to revive my blog back to it's former glory (what glory you stupid girl. You had like 3 readers! =.=).

I shall dig out my camera that I have abandoned for 2 months. I hope it hasn't given up on me.

So.. READERS! Hold your breath as Audrey Chow makes her come back.

Boring~

I don't have anything going in my life now that would qualify to be on my blog, but I thought I should at least write a line or two here, just to fill up the space.

Surprisingly, I don't have much use for my camera too, so there aren't any interesting pictures I can upload. In fact, I don't even know where I place my camera. I think it's in one of my bags.. dunno which one though.

The thing is, I just don't want to open my blog every time and have that 'I am not pregnant' post staring back at me.

So, here I am, writing a 'post' that does not have a purpose.

Hmm, I guess I'll stop for now. I'll be back soon with another meaningless and picture-less post so that I can get rid of the 'I am not pregnant' post from my page.

Ciao~

I am not pregnant!

So, I was walked in the pharmacy two days ago asking the pharmacist to recommend me some multivitamin, and I got this:

#1. Prenatal Vitamins with minerals for pregnant & lactating women.

I am not complaining though. Apparently it helps to make your nails and hair grows faster. God knows I need my hair to grow ASAP cause...

I AM LOSING PATCHES OF HAIR!!!

You people! You can't say that you are stressed till you start losing patches of hair like me!!!

No pictures concerning my hair condition till that patch of hair regrow.

But yes. I am losing hair. Every person I showed my patch to react differently.

Some showed concern and said, "You very stressed is it?"

Some babi punya people rolled their eyes and said, "You're just stressed."

It's a patch of hair you know!! Don't freaking roll your eyes! =.=" *mumbles incoherently

Anyway, I have recently started to take precaution.

My mum told me that Pantene is a very strong shampoo that can damage my hair, so now I am using Himilaya Herbal Shampoo.

#2. Herbal shampoo does less damage.

I tried it yesterday and realized that I lost less hair compared to usual (or maybe it is just me. Hmm~). Thanks mum!

Also, I am taking the Prenatal Vitamin every day now. I should have my thick healthy hair back in no time ^^

The only thing is, people might start to think I am freaking pregnant.

When I went to pay for the vitamins, the cashier looked at the bottle, then at my stomach, then at the bottle again. At first I thought she was just admiring my flat tummy (hehe! Haven't had my brunch yet that time, so still very flat. MUAHAHAHHA).

I only realized much later that the cashier might have thought that I am pregnant. Ish~

Well, I am growing hair at a faster rate, so don't care la.

---

On a happier note, my Apple iPad is no longer naked! I just bought the much anticipated Apple iPad casing!!

#3. Benri na~

After a month of waiting, my iPad is fully clothed.

#4. Sob sob~ Mummy is so proud of you! You look so handsome!!

Now I can go out with it without having to worry that it might hurt itself and get scratches.

Shall bring you to work with me tomorrow. ^^

Dinosaur toy?

Okay. What does this looks like to you?

#1. ???

I went into work today, about to set my bag on that very chair and I see a dinosaur toy sitting perfectly balanced on the sit rest. But I was skeptical.

So, I went,

Me: Jamie, is that your toy dinosaur sitting on the chair?
Jamie: *raises her eyebrow* What dinosaur?
Me: *points at chair* That one sitting on the chair.
Jamie: *steps closer to the chair* That's not a toy!

Thank god I was skeptical!!!!

#2. It was a freaking lizard!!!! I knew it wouldn't be a toy! I mean, how can a toy sit so still and not fall right? Haha!

Felt stupid for even thinking it was a toy dinosaur.

#3. Well, that's me. Hmm, I do look a bit chan right? You never notice that you look so bad till you take a picture of yourself.

On top of losing hair, I am looking like an old lady? Damn! I should go to bed earlier then. Yes. That's what I'll do.

Good night peeps~

My first post of Summer 2010

Have you ever come across a time where you have SOOOOO MANY pictures that needed editing and posting, you just go, "I'll do them tomorrow" but never end up doing it? Well, that is basically the story of my life.

I've always, and I do mean always, procrastinated, saying I'll do it later. But no more! Starting from today, I will put a stop to this nonsense. Now, I am not saying I will create a miracle by turning a new leaf overnight; I will take baby steps.

My first baby step is to tell you what I did today and post the pictures I took.

As you all do not know (lol!), Alyssa and Janae went home to Miami and Indiana for the summer. But Alyssa is back down in Fort Myers (where I am) for a several days because her younger brother, Dane has a baseball game.

We hung out for lunch with her uncle, Kelly and her cousin, Dillan. After that, we spent at least half an hour driving around Fort Myers lost giving her brother a tour on the way to their hotel; Spent another half an hour lost again showing him another part of town on the way to the theater to watch Prince of Persia.

#1. One of my favorite photos of the day: Alyssa and I sipping our huge cup of Coke Slushy (that bloody thing cost $6.50 USD!! wtf) in the girls bathroom. Yum~

Side Note: Prince of Persia was AWESOME!! I enjoyed it immensely. Despite the low ratings and what critics said, it was a funny-thrilling-keeps-you-at-the-edge-of-your-seat kinda movie. Worth every penny of my $10.50 dollar ticket. But! This might be because I wasn't expecting much from the movie because of the critics and low ratings. So, don't rate the movie solely based on what I say. GO WATCH IT!!

#2. I don't want to give anything away, so I will stop at saying, "Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Tamina (Gemma Arterton) are perfect together!" Okay. Shutting up now.

We then move on to our midnight snack: Dunkin' Donuts.

#3. Alyssa, Dane (the one in black behind Alyssa), Dillan (the one in white), Kelly (the on in black behind me), donut guy, and I at the drive-through window.

I like to think that we are very special people (nothing mentally or physically disabled or anything). Instead of driving-through, we decided to walk-through. Thus, snapping a photo as a remembrance of our unique experiences.

It was definitely the best way to spend the night.

---

So, there. My first baby step.

I will try to do this every time I have something to say or a picture to post, instead of giving excuses like "I'll wait till I post the older pictures before I post this one." This way, I will only have to deal with a certain number of older pictures instead of the ever growing amount I accumulate every day. *feels very proud of myself*

Happy Birthday Dad!!

Hmm, how long has it been since I've celebrated my dad's birthday with him in person? 16 years maybe?

Whao! That is a long time. It isn't till I really sit down and think about that I realize he's been celebrating alone these years.

I also realize that he has probably been feeling lonely living in Florida alone for all these years. We didn't do anything fancy for his birthday, but I tried my best to make sure that he enjoyed it.

We went for dinner, as usual..

#1. Dad with green dumplings. LOL!

#2. I don't usually try new stuff, but since it is my dad's birthday, I went ahead and tried the Mango Prawns and Beijing Chicken he ordered. See how much I sacrificed for you that day, dad. Hehe!!

I think one of the times where he was really happy that day was when the waiters and waitresses came out with a cake, singing Happy Birthday.

#3. He was smiling for the picture without me having to tell him to. That is a sign of him being genuinely happy (according to me). =P

Apparently one of his co-workers knew he was going to the restaurant we were headed to, and called ahead. His co-worker took care of the bill and even told them it was my dad's birthday. Hence, the cake.

I was kinda miffed cause the person who was suppose to treat my dad was me! But that's okay. He looked happy either way. So, my present to him was.. the news about him not having to pay for my tuition this summer! Financial aid and scholarship covered it.

Glad I decided to keep this information till today; he looked like a huge load has been lifted off his shoulder.

I am never good with words, nor am I good with expressing emotions. Especially when it comes to people who are really important to me.

But my dad is so patient with me, that I wouldn't trade him for any other dads. I can't do a whole elaboration about how wonderful he is like my sister, Amanda did, because I can not find word(s) to describe how much he means to me.

All I want to say is, "Dad, I hope you had a wonderful birthday. Although I haven't been the world's greatest daughter, you are the world's greatest dad to me. Thank you for always putting up with me. Happy 58th Birthday Daddy!"

First step to becoming a mangaka?!?

Okay. So, I was just trying my luck at drawing a few minutes ago. Don't think I will be a mangaka (comic artist) when I grow up (when I grow up?!? What am I? Five?!?).

It started with my cousin, Jamie.

#1. Meet Jamie. Say hi people. =.=" I can be so lame sometimes *roll eyes

Recently, she has been drawing a lot of manga out of interest; She's really good at it, for a beginner.

These are several of her attempts.

#1. She started with pokemon(s). She's been drawing them according to pokemon pictures she finds in the internet. She even have friends requesting them now. Lol!

#2. She is moving on to 'Chibis.'

I think part of the reason why she started is because of her fascination with anime.

#3. Meet Toshirou Hitsugaya (One of the anime, Bleach characters). 'He' is my cousin's pet. Yes. 'He' is a water marble. Yes, she is obsess with Bleach.

If Histugaya is real, he would be her husband. Jun, you have competition. =P Apparently, Hitsugaya is Jun's husband as well. Hitsugaya, are you two timing?! =.="

#4. These are MY pets, Sakura (pink) and Syaoran (blue).

ANYWAYYYYSSSSSSS.....

Jamie got this book that teaches step by step how to draw chibi characters, and she has been drawing more frequently.

#4. Now, she has her own collection of drawings.

#5. Bunny Girl

#6. Secret agent.

When she was drawing just now, I noticed she wasn't following the steps as the book instructed. So, I was trying to explain to her how following the steps would help (draw outline first, etc.) cause I have a friend (Yuen Looi) who does that.

#7.

She insisted on drawing it her own way. Since, she looked like she was really enjoying herself, and the picture LOOKS (looks can be deceiving) easy enough to draw, I joined her in drawing one myself.

And mine turned out like this..

#1. My very first attempt at drawing a 'Chibi Girl.' Easier said then done!!

#9. Left to right: Original, mine, Jamie's

Okay. I will admit, I started drawing with the intention of showing Jamie that if she follows the steps, her drawings will turn out better. I was hoping my drawing will turn out soooo good that I could go like, "NAH! In your face!" That way, maybe she will start taking my advises. Didn't work as planned. Who knew drawing could be so hard.

I have a whole new appreciation for manga drawings. Now, whenever I read manga(s), I will never ever again mutter under my breath at how the head is smaller than the body, the guy doesn't look as hot, the girls' boobs look unnatural, it should have been drawn it this way/that way, etc.

I shall appreciate your hard work and enjoy the drawings as much as possible. So, to all mangaka(s) in the world, draw with pride!

Oh Happy Day!!!!

Today has got to be one of the happiest day of my life.

First, I must tell you. I have had the worst week ever.

Four days ago, I just realized that I have to move out of my dorm by next Friday, have to look for a place to stay before that, have to get an internship before May 1st, have to study for my finals, have to pack.. basically, there are a lot of have to(s).

Today's events turned everything around!

I went for a haircut with Janae at 'The Rock'.

#1. Janae got highlights. Haha! She is going to kill me for putting up this picture.

I love my hair now by the way. Of course it helps to have one of the coolest hairdressers ever.

#2. Jay and I. Coolest hairdresser ever!

Then Janae and I went for sushi at my aunt's. Had a satisfying meal.

Seeing as I was homeless at that moment, I asked my aunt if I could live with her.. and she said yes!

Wait. The best part has yet to come though.

On the way back home, I got to see an owl. (And no. This is not the best part)

#3. Isn't that cool. I have never seen an owl up close, till today.

I was happy so far. Great hair cut. No longer homeless. Got to see an owl for the first time. I was more or less in a happy mood.

Then I reached home, turned on my laptop. Checked my e-mail as usual, and........................

I GOT THE INTERNSHIP AT FOX4 MORNING BLEND!!!!!!

OMG!!!!!!!! I was ecstatic. I was screaming, jumping up and down, you name it. Calling my dad and friends shrieking! I even left my professor (she is in charge of internships) a voice mail telling her the good news. I was practically insane for at least half an hour.

Explanation:

Okay. For those of you who are confused, let me explain.

I went for an interview at Fox4 Morning Blend on Monday. It is a TV broadcast, and I had a great experience there. I job shadow-ed an intern, and got to see the behind-the-scenes stuff. I really wanted the internship! Before I left, the executive producer told me she would call me the next day(Tues) to tell me if I got the intern.

I waited.. and waited.. and waited. By the end of Tuesday, I was devastated. I was pretty much 100% sure I wasn't going to get the internship seeing as they haven't call me, but I wanted a confirmation.

So, I sent a thank you e-mail to the executive producer to thank her for the opportunity, but also to get a response from them, even if it is a confirmation that I didn't get the intern. She didn't respond for almost two days. Finally, today, when I checked my e-mail, she replied,

"Audrey,
I'd like to take this opportunity to offer you a FOX4 Morning Blend
Internship. Please let me know if you're still interested and your
start date, we can work out your schedule.
"

OMG!!! You really have no idea how happy I was/am.

End of story.

From being homeless and jobless to having a home and job for summer is fantastic news.

Hence, the good day~

But I still have finals and Japanese homework that I need to take care of. At least my finals isn't as tough as Janae's. She has anatomy (or was it physics) final exam next Monday, so she has to learn approximately 400 note cards.

I crack up every time I see her stack of note cards that she has to learn/memorize. She has the most interesting study system I've ever seen.

#4. She makes up categories to see which one she needs to go over and stuff. Humor aside, this is a pretty good study method. I am thinking of adopting it.

And that concludes my happy day story. I am still so happy whenever I think about the internship. Starting to get a little nervous but I shall do my best! ^^
